Mr. Clarence Pace

Consultant, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Mr Clarence Pace, MD,BChD, MFDSRCS, MRCS,FRCS (OMFS)(Eng) graduated as a dental surgeon in 1999 from the University of Malta (B.Ch.D). After having worked in the dental department at St. Luke’s University Teaching Hospital for two years, Mr Clarence Pace subsequently took up a post as a Senior House Officer in Oral Medicine & Oral Surgery at the University Teaching Hospital of Glasgow in Scotland following which he was awarded the Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (M.F.D.S.R.C.S). After having taken up the post as the Dental Surgeon responsible for the Dental Emergency Department at St. Luke’s Hospital, he began the Medical undergraduate degree at the University of Malta (M.D) which he completed in 2005. He underwent foundation training for two years covering General Medicine, General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Orthopaedics and Neurosurgery and was also appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Anatomy in the University of Malta.
In 2007, Mr Pace was appointed as a Specialist Registrar in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in the South Yorkshire & South Humber in the UK covering a number of University Teaching Hospitals including Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Rotherham and Chesterfield during which time he completed the Membership of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (M.R.C.P.S). Following the completion of specialist training, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (F.R.C.S{OMFS}). In February 2013, he was appointed as a Consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon / Head & Neck Cancer at The James Cook University Teaching Hospital in Middlesbrough, UK and subsequently in 2015 was appointed as a Consultant at Mater Dei Hospital in Malta. He obtained a vast amount of expertise in dento-alveolar surgery, surgery related to craniofacial trauma, Head & Neck cancer surgery, skin surgery, TMJ surgery and orthognathic (Facial Deformity) surgery amongst others. In 2013 he completed the Certificate in Management and Leadership from the Brighton Business School of Management.
Mr. Clarence Pace has published in several peer reviewed journals including Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, British Dental Journal and Dental Update and received rewards for best published article from the Australian Dental Journal. He currently occupies the post as an Examiner with the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Senior Lecturer with the University of Malta.
