Lip Augmentation
Historically, the lips are associated with romance and affection. From a ‘rosebud’ mouth to a ‘Cupid’s bow’, there are many descriptions which often draw the eye of an admirer to the mouth. However as we age, the lips become thinner over time and lose their definition, sometimes with vertical wrinkles gathering around the mouth which draws attention to a problem area. Plus some women are just not naturally blessed with the full, curvaceous lips of the cinema screen. And this is why lip augmentation has become such a popular procedure. It’s a non-invasive treatment via a dermal filler which works to gently plump up your lips, giving them a kissable look – perfect for showing off that new lipstick!
Overview
Restylane Lip fillers are administered via a series of tiny injections into and around the mouth. Each patient can choose how much of a difference they want to see, however lip fillers are designed to accentuate the mouth, not change its appearance completely. Having this treatment done will give a more youthful look to the whole face, as well as making your lips slightly plumper. Lip augmentation also gives a more defined smile, which opens up a person’s face and makes them more accessible; a valuable tool both in the workplace and out.

Your lips are sensitive, so a small amount of local anaesthetic is used to numb the area before the injections are given. The lip filler is then administered, giving the lips a natural, fuller look. The treatment is quick, it lasts around half an hour and the side effects are minimal.
Reasons to have this procedure:
- If your mouth has taken on a ‘pinched’ look
- If your lips are less full than they used to be
- If you feel that wrinkles are ruining your smile
- If you have always wanted a fuller look to your lips

Lip augmentation also gives a more defined smile, which opens up a person’s face

Is there any recovery time needed?
No, you will be able to resume normal daily life immediately. You should be fine to leave straight away and drive yourself.

There will be an immediate improvement, however, you won’t see the final results until any swelling or bruising has subsided.
Do I need to take any precautions before the procedure?
No, there’s nothing specific that you can do.
